Dumaguete City gives incentives to employees

An estimated 1, 028 qualified local government employees (regular and casual) of Dumaguete City will each receive P20,000 or pro-rated amount as Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) for the fiscal year 2023 pursuant to Administrative Order No. 12.

Mayor Felipe Antonio B. Remollo has allocated P 20.5 million for the grant of the SRI to be submitted to the Sangguniang Panlungsod for the passage of the appropriation ordinance.

Among the conditions in the grant of SRI include that the personnel are occupying regular, contractual or casual position; the personnel are still in government service as of November 30, 2023; the personnel have rendered at least a total or an aggregate of 4 months of satisfactory service as of November 30, 2023, inclusive of services rendered under any of the alternative work arrangements prescribed by the Civil Service Commission; those who have rendered less than a total or an aggregate of 4 months of satisfactory service of November 30, 2023 shall be entitled to a pro-rated SRI.

The funding source of the SRI is taken from the reversion of savings on Personal Services of various funded vacant position of different offices of the current budget of the General Fund Proper for the period January-December 2023.

The SRI will be released to the recipients once all the required documents are complied, submitted and reviewed by the proper authorities.

Meanwhile, Remollo has approved the grant of P 3,000 honoraria for each of the 940 public school teachers based on the request of Supt. Casiana P. Caberte of Deped Dumaguete City Schools Division.

The sum of P 2.8 million has been allocated for the grant of said honoraria, which will be submitted to the Sangguniang Panlungsod for the passage of the appropriation ordinance.

Mayor Remollo said that the honorarium for the public school teachers in Dumaguete City serves as a token of appreciation for their diligence in making sure that their learners acquire quality and relevant education and for their constant support to the programs and activities of the local government.

The honoraria will be released to the recipient teachers once all the required documents are complied, submitted and reviewed by the proper authorities. (City PIO)
