A Dumaguetena who has been working with the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in California since 1998 has been appointed to the California Board of Registered Nursing by Governor Jerry Brown.
A report in the Friday Flyer in Canyon Lake said the appointment of Cindy Cipres Klein, RN, was issued last May 10. The position does not require Senate confirmation. The Board (BRN) regulates the practice of registered nursing and certifies advanced practice nurses in order to protect the public.
Cipres-Klein has served in multiple positions with Kaiser from 1998 to 2003. She has been an ambulatory care RN team leader in family medicine, pediatrics, allergy and obstetrics and gynecology from 1998 to 2003, and the RN charge nurse in urgent care from 2003 to 2005. Most recently she has been working in Population Care Management since 2005, the report said.
Cipres-Klein moved to Canyon Lake after she married John Klein, a local resident, in 1995. Her parents Arturo and Josie, and sister Marcelle, still reside in Dumaguete City and are very proud of her achievement, the report said.
Cipres-Klein told the paper that she is “very excited about the opportunity” and looks forward to woring with he other board members and the governor. “It is with great honor that I am able to represent the nursing profession in this capacity.”
