“21 batches of scholars have it, 21 years of excellence and counting, 21 years of producing the best.” After 21 years since the first commencement exercises of Dumaguete Science High School, 21 batches of scholars will be heading home for its alumni homecoming slated on Dec. 29, 2011 at the Negros Oriental Convention Center.

Dubbed as Tambong: Grand Alumni Homecoming the event aims to gather all graduates of DSHS since 1991 and celebrate 21 years of success. It further aims to rekindle the fire burning in each DuScian heart by going back through memory lane as will be exemplified through videos, testimonials, exhibits, performances, among others–anything that would reminisce the DuScian life. A convergence of DuScian talents will unfold on that day. Principals, faculty and staff–old and new, and other significant people who molded DuScians are also invited to grace the event and help recollect the past years.

This event also aims to raise funds for alumni association projects, one of which is a scholarship program. The event will feature exciting activities and raffle prizes for the alumni. One of the major prizes is a trip for two to Boracay or Palawan. Other prizes include gift certificates, and cellphones.

The event is mainly coordinated by DSHS Batch 2006 headed by event chairperson Floyd Edrea and faculty advisers Melinda Favor and Lourdes Lee. For registration queries, please contact 0906-735-8393. (John Paul N. Oira)
