An award-winning energy management company introduced an innovative and affordable way of saving electric power consumption to around 20 participants from food, metals, sugar and coconut processing companies in the Province, in a an energy management forum recently organized by the Department of Science and Technology-Negros Oriental Provincial S&T Center.

WattSmart Philippines Corp. obtained a funding from the DOST’s Philippine Council for Industry, Energy & Emerging Technology Research & Development for its Smart Energy Program which is designed to support the manufacturing sector minimize their energy wastage through energy audit, on-site installation of energy data centers to facilitate analysis of energy consumption , and professional energy consultation.

The forum’s main resource person, Engr. Rheymar Barroga of WattSmart underscored the long-term financial benefits of SEP, including the workers’ safety, non-invasive, and hazard-free features of the SEP systems. Barroga added that the technology enables a business establishment to have control over its electrial energy consumption, save overhead costs and boost business competitiveness

This private-public initiative intends to provide 150 micro, small, and medium enterprises with free data analytics, professional advice on how to save energy and reduce electric consumption and companies will be able to monitor energy consumption online by logging in to the website: www.wattsmart.ph.
