Energy takes the spotlight

Foundation University, in coordination with First Philippine Holdings and the Energy Development Corporation, held an energy audit seminar last November 12-13 at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall.

Participated by various local government units, representatives from the academe, private sector and the Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative (NORECO), the seminar is the first of its kind in the Province. It focuses on Energy Conservation and Efficiency, and Skills Development on Energy Audit.

Engr. Maximino G. Marquez and Engr. Marlon Romulo U. Domingo, Senior Science Research Specialists of the Department of Energy discussed on the National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Program (NEECP). They also tackled Electricity Basics and Bills, Fuel Energy Basics and Type of Commercial Buildings and its Energy Systems.

A group exercise was done to practice real life situations for Energy Audit. The seminar also lets participants practice energy audit and data analysis by visiting key areas in Foundation University.
