ZAMBOANGUITA — Gov. Roel Degamo recently turned over three brand new equipment worth P5 million to the municipality of Zamboanguita.
The equipment received by town Mayor Kit Marc Adanza included a pay loader, a road roller, and a mini-dump truck.
This is the second turn-over of equipment in addition to the grader, which was earlier donated by the provincial government to Zamboanguita.
Governor Degamo said the donation is part of the provincial government’s goal to strengthen its cooperation with the various cities and municipalities in the Province.
He said he recognizes the need of the local government units for heavy equipment as they are vital to bring about developments in their respective areas of jurisdiction especially in the hinterland barangays.
The provincial government itself has acquired 11 brand new heavy equipment to bolster its aim to establish mobile engineering units throughout the Province, as well as its efforts on disaster mitigation and preparedness activities.
Meanwhile starting this year, the Barangay Health Workers throughout the Province will get a P100 increase in their monthly honorarium from the provincial government.
Governor Degamo recently announced the development during a series of distribution of the honorarium province-wide.
This is the provincial government’s way of recognizing the BHWs as partners in the delivery of basic health services to the people.
“Without them, it would be very difficult to bring the different programs of the government to the barangays,” the governor said.
The Governor, however, added that the P100 monthly increase is “very minimal” as compared to the sacrifices and hard work experienced by the BHWs.
The provincial government continues to find ways to remunerate the invaluable contributions of the health sector for the welfare of the people in the barangay level. (mbcn/PIA7-NegOr)
