I can’t get enough of Siquijor.
My daughter and I spent our Holidays and New Year’s eve at Siquijor last year.
It was my 6th times in that mystical island but I cant get enough of it.
Here are the reasons:
Paradise Island.

Lala-o Sunset. My daughter and I watched the last sunset of 2023 at Lala-o. As the day gently fades into twilight, Siquijor Island transforms into a canvas painted with hues of gold, orange, and pink. The sun, a blazing orb of fiery brilliance, begins its descent toward the horizon, casting a warm glow across the landscape. The waves, kissed by the soft light, dance gracefully along the shore, their rhythmic melody a soothing accompaniment to the symphony of colors unfolding in the sky.
Perched atop a rocky outcrop, we watch in awe as the sun dips lower, casting long shadows that stretch across the sand. The air is filled with the scent of salt and sea, mingling with the sweet fragrance of tropical blooms. Silhouettes of palm trees sway gently against the backdrop of the setting sun, their fronds ablaze with the last rays of daylight.
Time seems to stand still as we drink in the beauty of this perfect sunset, etching the moment into our memory forever. In this fleeting instant, surrounded by the natural splendor of Siquijor Island, I was reminded the first time we watched Lala-o sunset was with my husband last 2017 during Valentines day. It was romantic and overload with sweetness.
Escape Vacation. For weeks, my daughter and I had planned this escape, a chance to leave behind the weight of some family and work problems and rediscover the bond that unites us. As we watched the stars twinkle overhead and felt the warmth of the tropical night, we shared stories and laughter, in our hearts lighter than we’ve been in months.
I wrapped my arm around my daughter’s shoulders, drawing her close as we reflect on the challenges we’ve faced and the strength we’ve found within each other. Together, we envision a future filled with possibility and promise, buoyed by the love and support we share.
As the clock strikes midnight and fireworks illuminate the night sky, my daughter and I stood hand in hand on the shores of a secluded island. With the soft sound of waves lapping against the shore and the salty breeze rustling through our hair, we welcomed the new year with a sense of renewal and hope.
In this moment, under the canopy of stars and surrounded by the beauty of the island, we find solace and healing. As we embrace the new year with open hearts and renewed spirits, we know that no matter what the future holds, we will face it together, united in our bond as mother and daughter.
