Negros Oriental State University President Dr. Henry Sojor challenged the university’s graduates this year to “explore the world.”
“Success is a matter of choice, not a matter of chance. So go and explore the world,” Sojor told the graduates during the university’s 54th Commencement Exercises held March 23, 2012 at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex in Dumaguete City.
The ceremony marked the 6th commencement exercise that Dr. Sojor delivered a speech for the entire NORSU system, which is composed of two main campuses and five satellite campuses in the province, said NORSU Information Officer Joy Perez.
Reymil Cadapan, NORSU registrar, said there are an estimated 2,700 graduates from NORSU this year.
Of the total, 1,200 are from the two main campuses in Dumaguete City.
NORSU has satellite campuses in Mabinay, Guihulngan City, Bais City, Bayawan-Sta. Catalina, and Siaton.
Perez said honor students received medals and tokens from former Finance Secretary Margarito Teves who was assisted by his father, former District III Rep. Herminio “Meniong “ Teves. (PIA Negros Oriental)
