A senior student of the FU Department of Architecture & Fine Arts bagged the top prize in the recently-concluded 4th Victorias Milling Corp. Inter-School Art Contest held Oct. 8 in Bacolod City.
Julbert Ramos, Fine Arts major, was adjudged the best among 21 artists who joined the competition which earlier had its Negros Oriental qualifying round Oct. 1 at Bethel Guest House here in Dumaguete City.
Ramos won P30,000 cash, along with P10, 000 worth of art supplies.
Foundation University, a first time participant in this four-year-old art contest, also won one computer set.
Ramos, along with the top five winners, will soon undergo an art seminar in the field of visual arts, and will be featured in an art gallery exhibit in Bacolod City.
Six other Fine Arts students also joined this year’s VMC Art Contest: Bragg Namol (qualifier for the final judging in Bacolod along with Julbert Ramos), Dyna Fe Quilnet, Jose Phil Sabuga, Flomil Rey Labarento, Jomir Tabudlong, and Maria Concepcion Gracia.
