Eleven writers from different parts of the country are this year’s fellows to the prestigious 51st Silliman University National Writers Workshop.
The workshop this year runs from April 30 to May 18 at the Silliman University Rose Lamb Sobrepeña Writers Village at the scenic Camp Lookout in the municipality of Valencia.
Director-in-Residence Dr. Rowena Tiempo-Torrevillas released the official announcement on the acceptance of the following: For Poetry: CD Borden (University of San Carlos), Deborah Rosalind Nieto (University of Sto. Tomas). For Fiction: Michael Aaron Gomez (SU), Thomas David Chavez (Philippine Normal University), Michelle Abigail Tiu Tan (Ateneo de Manila University), Christian Tablazon (UP Diliman), Timothy James Dimacali (UP Diliman), Ma. Vida Frances Cruz (ADMU). For Creative Non-Fiction: Hazel Meghan Hamile (UP Mindanao), Zendy Victoria Sue Valencia (UST). For Drama: Karlo Antonio David (ADMU).
The Silliman National Writers Workshop is the oldest creative writing program in Asia. It was founded by the late National Artist for Literature Dr. Edith L. Tiempo, along with her husband, the late Dr. Edilberto K. Tiempo.
