The FISH (Fostering Inclusive and Sustainable Habitats) Visayas Project conducted a Basic Food Safety Seminar in La Libertad, Negros Oriental, aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of local fisherfolk and MSMEs.
The seminar, attended by 30 local fisherfolk, featured resource speakers from the Department of Science & Technology-Negros Oriental.
The initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the local government unit of La Libertad, the AFOS Foundation for Entrepreneurial Development Cooperation, and the Dumaguete Cathedral Credit Cooperative.
The seminar marked a step in the FISH Visayas Project’s mission to increase and sustain incomes for fisherfolk across the fisheries and food-related value chains in Central Visayas.
By focusing on food safety, the project ensures that local communities can enhance their market opportunities while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. (DOST Region 7 Negros Oriental)
