It’s the time of year when flowers are a big hit like they are on Valentine’s Day.
For All Saints’ Day this weekend, a number of flower shops here are bracing for the occasion to provide the public beautifully-arranged cutflowers: Expressions Flower Shop along Ma. Cristina St.; La Maison de Fleur along Daro Highway; Bunch-n-Dozen along Daro Highway; Paning’s Fower Shop at the corner of Colon and Sta. Catalina Sts.; and the City Market flower section where about 40 little flower stalls display their cutflowers sourced from the cool mountain town of Valencia.
The cost of flowers range from P100 to P750 per dozen, depending on the kind of flower: Malaysian mums at P450/dozen; Roses (Holland) short-stemmed at P100-P300, long-stemmed at P600/dozen; Carnation and Gerbera at P600/dozen; Liliums at P450-P500/stalk, Alstromeria at P350/bundle; Wonder White at P150/dozen; Chrysanthemum at P100-P200/dozen; Aster P150/dozen; Baby’s breath at P250/bundle; and Orchids at P750/dozen.
Over at Plantasia Garden in barangay Boloc-boloc in Sibulan, fresh floral arrangements cost only P295 with free delivery.
Freshly-cut flowers (directly from the soil) are also available at Gloria Farm in Valencia. They sell Mums at P120/dozen and Roses at P300-P500/dozen. (Lovely Sheena Yepes/SU Masscom intern)
