Food Fair set on July 29

The Dumaguete City government, through the City Nutrition Council and the City Agriculture Office, will hold Food Fair 2013 on Monday, July 29 at the Quezon Park as part of the culmination program of the Nutrition Month Celebration.

The Nutrition Month theme this year is Gutom at Malnutrisyon Sama-Sama nating Wakasan.

City Nutrition Officer Lourdes Taburasa said the program will start at 9:30 in the morning with City Administrator William Ablong and Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria giving their welcome and inspirational messages.

At the Food Fair, different root crops, products, and vegetables from 30 barangays in the City are set up or display at Quezon Park.

The activity of the Nutrition Month celebrations will culminate at 3:00pm with the awarding of the winners in the: School Bulletin Board Contest, Search for Outstanding Integrated Health & Nutrition Implementor, Best Essential Health Care Program, 5th Inter-High School Oratorical Contest, Cooking Contest, A-1 Day Care Child Selection, Day Care School Garden Contest, Day Care Nutrition Corner Contest, Well Baby Contest, Quiz Bowl, Inter Barangay Booth Contest, and Best Home Garden and Best Co-operator Home Garden. City Vice Mayor Woodrow Maquiling Sr. will give his closing remarks in the afternoon program. (PIO-Dumaguete)
