An innovative solution to address food wastage in Dumaguete City and in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -— devised by a Silliman Mass Communication alumnus — is among the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) awardees this year.
The Food Rescue ASEAN project hatched by Mac Edsel Florendo won the judges nod for their “selfless act of heroism, volunteerism, and creativity that promotes meaningful change”. The Food Rescue project, together with nine others, received the recognition out of the 443 entries across the country.
TAYO Awards, now on its 14th year, is organized by the National Youth Commission and the TAYO Foundation.
