Foundation University in Dumaguete City is fully ready for the implementation of the K-12 program with some solutions to the senior high school program featured at its annual exposition this week.
The university held its annual exposition for three days at the Robinsons Place shopping mall in Dumaguete, as a “promotional tool” and to share with the community its accomplishments over the past years, said Victor Vicente “Dean” Sinco, Foundation University president.
Featured in the exposition are academic, vocational and sports tracks, among others, that are made available as the university starts shifting towards the K-12 program as required by the Commission on Higher Education, Sinco said in an interview.
Highlighting this year’s expo are the “learning culture and academic environment of industry grade facilities and modern technology as a tool for learning,” the university president explained.
The Foundation University Preparatory Academy, a new name for the grade school and high school of FU, is ready for senior high, Sinco said.
The vocational and technological tracks offered vary with students having a wider choice, he added.
The exposition, which had started in 2001, is more of evolutionary, showing the university’s accomplishments and “refinements” over the years and where it is today, according to Sinco.
Sinco cited as an example the FU’s robotics technology which has evolved today to include having developed software for smart phones that allows a person to drive the robot. (PNA)
