The University is spearheading its 66th founding anniversary with an array of activities for the weeklong festivity.

Freshmen students will be given light on University life during the Academic Opening Program on July 1 at Sofia Soller Sinco Hall. This will be followed by the Faculty and Staff Dinner, wherein new members to the FU community are recognized.

The long-awaited launch of Estudio Damgo 3, a marine sanctuary floating building in the shape of a pyramid, will happen on July 2. On the same day at 6:00pm will be the Dal-Uy festival, an annual event showcasing the dreams and hopes of the students. This will be held at Bantayan Beach where Estudio Damgo 3 is currently floating.

On July 3 is the celebratory mass at Sofia Soller Sinco Hall by 8:00am, after which is the Community Fellowship and Larong Pinoy at the FU Green. A friendly Sports Battle among the faculty, staff, and students will take place by 1:00pm at the Greyhound Garden. Competitions in basketball, volleyball and futsal will surely make everyone cheer for their favorites.

On Founders Day (July 4) at 8:00am will be the 2015 Intramurals Opening, together with the Inter-Department Yell & Stomp Competitions. The Grand Alumni Homecoming at 1:00pm will see our golden jubilarians awarded, as well as this year’s Outstanding Alumni Awardees. (Febby Marton Rule)
