The Foundation University College of Arts and Sciences is spearheading the University’s celebration of CAS Week from Sept. 12 — 16.
Remedios May Cimafranca, acting dean of the FU College of Arts and Sciences, said the theme for this year’s celebration is “Reminiscing the past, reflecting the present and enriching the future.”
Activities have been lined up to reflect this year’s theme, she said.
Most activities during the week will be held after classes at 3:45 p.m. with a Thanksgiving Mass at the FU Chapel on Sept. 12.
This will be followed by the opening of exhibits at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall.
On Tuesday, the CAS will provide a glimpse into the world of English with choreographed interpretation, declamation, character portrayal and dramatic monologue, also at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall.
This will be followed by a Reader’s Theater.
Wednesday will be Social Science Day, which will be highlighted by an Oxford-Oregon style debate.
On Thursday, Natural Science Day, there will be a lecture-forum on Climate Change at 10 a.m. and a Physics Olympics at 3:45 at the FU Green.
Friday will be the CAS Fun Night which starts at 6 p.m. at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall. (PR)
