Foundation University will hold its annual University Expo on March 6-8 at the Robinson’s Dumaguete Place.
The three-day event will give the various colleges the opportunity to share their expertise with the public. Among the many exhibits during the Expo are the miniature aquaponics systems of the College of Agriculture, the robotics program of the College of Computer Studies and the ceramic works of resident the Department of Architecture and Fine Arts will feature the ceramic works of resident artist Takeshi Maruyama of the College of Architecture and Fine Arts.
High school and elementary teachers, as well as their students, will also hold an iPad clinic, which will be an opportunity for grandparents or other technological newbies to learn how to operate the iPad. The Foundation University High School and Grade School are among the country’s pioneering schools in the iPad program. All students in the elementary and high school department use iPads instead of thick textbooks and learn their lessons through e-books.
There will also be a showing of short films at the Robinsons Cinema from 8 a.m. -12 noon on Friday, March 7. Students from the College of Arts and Sciences’ Broadcasting Program will feature their productions, which will be followed by a question and answer session with invited high school students.
Assistant Secretary/Chief of Staff. Reynaldo Antonio D. Laguda of the Department of Education will be the keynote speaker during the opening ceremony on Thursday, March 6, at 9 a.m. at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall at the FU Main Campus. The opening of the exhibits will follow at the Robinsons Dumaguete Place after the opening program. (Paul Edward Bajas)
