Foundation University has officially launched its Preparatory Academy to compete with international standards for primary and secondary levels and to cater to foreign students as well.
Foundation University had earlier applied with the Department of Education to change the name of its FU Grade School and High School to the Foundation University Preparatory Academy, said Victor Vicente “Dean” Sinco, University president.
The DepEd approved the application on July 16, 2015.
The goal of the Foundation Preparatory Academy is to “move it up a couple of notches to be of international caliber”.
At present, the grade school and high school of Foundation cater to children of expats, especially Europeans, but Sinco noted the need to be globally- competitive to allow these children to pursue quality tertiary education.
Sinco said he believes that many of the parents, especially the fathers, are interested in bringing their kids back to their home countries abroad to pursue a college education.
FPA is for kids who have not gone through the European (academic) system, Sinco explained.
Most European schools are social in nature, and require international baccalaureate degrees which will qualify students to enroll in European colleges and universities.
FPA, through the international baccalaureate program, will prove to be challenging and difficult for students but will definitely develop their level of intelligence, according to Sinco. (PNA)
