Foundation University registered a 100 percent passing rate in the National Certification in Electrical Installation and Maintenance given by the Technical Education & Skills Development Authority.
Engr. Juan V. Ogabang Jr. from the TESDA Provincial Office assessed 20 students enrolled in the short-term course. The trainer was Florencio Makiling.
EIM covers five common competencies that a student must possess to have the National Certification: preparing electrical supplies, materials, and tools; performing mensuration and calculations; interpreting technical drawings and plans; maintaining tools and equipment; and practicing occupational health and safety.
Possible job opportunities can be as a Building-Wiring Electrician, Residential/Commercial-Wiring Electrician or a Maintenance Electrician.
The 20 passers are: Clint Absin, Anthony Acosta, Gemma Marie Antony, Jonie Barnayha, Arnulfo Benemerito Jr., Jay Cabaobao, Ronald Calingacion, Joseph Marcial Culagbang, Narrito Danao Jr., Luel Dela Peña, Efren Disor Jr., Raul Elmido, Joey Bremund Fieldad, Jerwin Ganaganag, Daryl Initan, Dexter Montesor, Erwin Obiado, John Nover Ragada, Florame Ventero and Jan Kenneth Villalon.
FU offers EIM for a total of 402 hours. Classes are from 5:30pm-8:30pm on weekdays, and from 8:00am-12:00 noon and 1:00pm-5:00pm on Saturdays.
