Working full time while getting a college degree is now possible at Foundation University.
The FU College of Business Administration is offering night classes for its Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program starting in June.
CBA Dean Julhusin Jalisan, DPA, said this is the University’s way of helping working students get a degree.
“With the rising prices of commodities, several people may be forced to look for a job to augment the family income rather than getting a college degree,” Jalisan said. Attending night classes, he said, is the ideal solution.
Dr. Eva Melon, vice president for academic affairs, said the University had night classes in the past but this is the first time where daytime workers are offered blocks of subjects that lead to a degree.
Foundation University President Mira Sinco said the offering of night classes is one of the ways where the University reaches out to the public. “We seek to be a relevant partner not just in educating our students but in nation-building. That’s how the University was established by Dr. Vicente G. Sinco after the second World War,” she said.
The College of Business Administration is the biggest College at Foundation University and is accredited with the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). It is now working for a Level 3 accreditation.
Enrolment for the first semester is ongoing.
Founded in 1949, Foundation University will mark its 62nd year on July 4, 2011, with the theme, “FoundationU @ 62: it’s all about you!” (PR)
