The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines, Inc. will conduct a two-day training for website training and marketing at Foundation University’s James Herring Audio-Visual Room on January 19 and 20.
Dr. Hermenegildo Dumlao, executive director of the North Luzon Growth Quadrangle Area, is bringing the seminar to Negros Oriental through the auspices of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation-Information Technology (APEC-IT) program. This started in selected countries in 2002 and the Philippines was one of the select country-beneficiaries of Japan’s development assistance program in information technology, Dumlao said.
The APEC-IT training program was an offshoot of the 4th APEC Human Resources Development Ministerial Meeting held in Japan on September 2001, which recognized among others, the importance of cooperation and information sharing between and among economies in bridging the digital divide and foster human resources development in developing countries within the region.
The training is made possible by the sponsorship of the Overseas Vocational Training Association and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan through the initiative of the APEC- Human Resource Development Seminar/Training Programme on the Adoption of IT of APEC-IT.
A total of 80 participants from public schools and the Small and Medium Enterprises have been invited to attend this seminar.
Fujitsu Corporation will provide the speakers for the two-day APEC-IT seminar.
