Summer Games at Robinsons organized by the Foundation University Institute for Youth Sports for Peace will showcase sporting events such as Basketball Tagutlo from May 22 to 24; Volleyball Three-a-Side from May 29 to 31; and Futsal Five-a-Side from June 1 to 2.

Advanced skills training will also be held May 22 to 27 at the Greyhound Garden in the north campus.

IYSP will also introduce to the community Elbow Volleyball through an exhibition game on May 31.

Earlier, the FU Summer Sports Program drew budding athletes and sports enthusiasts again this year with a total of 138 enrollees for the first batch, which commenced May 1.

Aside from specialized training on different skills in sports such as basketball, volleyball, badminton and football, the program also aimed to inculcate team spirit, proper values, and a positive playing attitude among promising athletes and sports enthusiasts from the grassroots level.

The sports camps’ goals were not only focused on learning the rules of the game and proper training but was geared towards developing the whole person while instilling the value of discipline to the young participants.

The second batch of participants in the five-day Summer Sports Camp ended May 21 at the Robinsons Place Main Atrium for the fundamentals of the sports programs. (Klein Emperado)
