The officers of the Hospitality Management Society, together with the Eco-Tourism class, conducted an awareness seminar on eco-tourism Awareness on July 25 in barangay Tandayag in the municipality of Amlan.
The seminar was participated by the local people of Tandayag.
FU students enrolled in Eco-Tourism discussed with the locals the importance of eco-tourism in their community, how-it can help boost their local economy, recommended rules in an eco-tourism site, and the different impacts of eco-tourism in the society, as well as in the environment.
Clifford Ligutom, adviser of the Eco-Tourism class, also spoke with the Tandayag community who also shared their best practices thus far.
The seminar aimed to encourage proper education and information to the local people on how they could best protect their site or the environment in general, while generating income, and empowering the people in the community.
