Foundation University will showcase its talents and technological capabilities in a three-day exposition at the University’s main campus and at Robinson’s Place Dumaguete, from Tuesday, February 19 to Thursday, February 21.
The FU Expo 2013 is a larger version of the Digital Dumaguete, started by the University some 11 years ago to initially highlight the advances made by the University in the field of Information Technology.
“We have expanded the Digital Dumaguete into the FU Expo because we now can also showcase the other technology that we are using at Foundation University,” said Victor Vicente G. Sinco, university vice president for finance and administration.
The FU Expo will start with a program at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall at the FU main campus on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
Adolf P. Aguilar, division coordinator for ICT’s in education of the Division of Negros Oriental, will give the keynote speech.
After the opening program, everyone will proceed to the Robinson’s Place Dumaguete for the opening of the exhibits at 10:30 a.m.
There will be exhibits on robotics, e-learning, computer animation, computer programming, hydroponics, aquaponics, organic farming, among others.
On Wednesday, February 20, there will also be forum by Ramon del Prado starting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20 at the Robinson’s Movie World, while the works of the broadcast students will also be shown on the big screen.
While the forum is ongoing, college students from Dumaguete’s universities will hold a marketing competition. On Wednesday, the University will hold a Knowledge and Skills caravan for visiting high school students starting at 9 a.m. In the afternoon, the visiting students will compete in an inter-high school computer quiz bowl, which will be held at the Robinson’s Atrium starting at 1 p.m.
