Foundation University will go 100 percent solar in the next two weeks, according to President Victor Vicente “Dean” Sinco.
Sinco said the whole energy requirement of the University would be fully sourced from the solar panels it has installed to save on power consumption.
The University is waiting the arrival of some materials from Singapore to be delivered to Dumaguete in two weeks.
After all the solar panels are installed, the University expects to generate about 300 kilowatts of power, which is the same amount of power needed by the entire campus.
The first to be powered by solar energy is the High School department.
Sinco said the University expects big savings from their decision to invest in solar. (JG/PNA)
