The Dumaguete Festival & Arts Society announced the winners of the 4th Dumaguete K-12 Extemporaneous Speaking Contest held Nov. 29.

First prize went to Khyla Shane Acab, representing Foundation Preparatory Academy. She was coached by Charie Mae Pino.

Second prize was Andrey Solera from SU Senior High School. Her coach was J. Marie Maxino.

Third prize was Krisha Marie Abella from RTP Memorial Dumaguete Science High School, coached by Julius Ceasar Carballo Jr.

Judging the competition were Dr. Henry Sojor, Judge Dinah Tabada-Chu, and extemporaneous speaking contest champion Brian Stefan Mack.

The theme of the Contest was Dumaguete K-12: Facing the Challenges of Digital Transformation in Education.

Other schools that participated in the competition were St. Paul University, St. Louis School Don Bosco, Asian College, Catherina Cittadini (St. Louis) School, Colegio de Sta. Catalina de Alejandria, Dumaguete City National High School, Herminigilda Gloria Memorial High School, Piapi High School, and Holy Cross High School. (Jessica Layumas)
