GMA Network appoints VP-HR

GMA Network Inc. announced the appointment of Atty. Gerrome Y. Apolona as the new vice president for Human Resources Development Department effective September 2012.

Apolona joined GMA Network in January 2009 as assistant VP for Employee Relations Management, handling employee/labor relations and benefits management.

Prior to his appointment as VP for HRDD, Apolona was named OIC of the same department on Dec. 1, 2011.

As the new VP of the department, he will continue to lead the strategic formulation and implementation of its various programs and projects, and will oversee the overall function of HRDD.

Apolona has extensive experience in labor management, labor litigation, among other employment and legal-related functions.

He obtained his BA in Political Science degree from the University of the Philippines, and earned his Bachelor of Law degree from the same university.

Before joining GMA, Apolona worked in the Office of the General Counsel of San Miguel Corp from 2002 to 2009, and Angara Abello Concepcion Regala & Cruz Law Offices from 1997 to 1999.

Apolona served as president of the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines-Subic Chapter from 2001 to 2002. (PR)
