QUEZON CITY — GMA Network is on its way to ending the year on a winning note after bringing home various awards and recognitions from highly respected organizations namely the International Business & Academe Conference, People Management Association of the Philippines, and the Federation of Associations of Private Schools & Administrators.

GMA News pillar Jessica Soho was named as the Outstanding Broadcaster of the Year in the 2013 IBAC Service Excellence and Partners Awards held Dec. 5 . Soho was cited for her exemplary service and commitment as the advocate of truth and fair news analysis.

World boxing champ and Kapuso personality Manny Pacquiao and GMA Primetime King Dingdong Dantes, in turn, received the Outstanding Youth Ambassador Award. Pacquiao was recognized for continuously bringing pride and honor to the country as the World’s Best Boxing Champion while Dantes’ commendation was based on his exemplary contribution as a Role Model for the Youth.

News personalities Jiggy Manicad and Love Añover were both recognized as Service Excellence Awardees for Media for their exemplary reportage at the height of Typhoon Yolanda.

In the 3rd PMAP Makatao Awards for Media Excellence held last week, Soho won the Best TV Public Affairs Host award while her program Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho was named as the Best TV Public Affairs Program.

Fellow GMA News pillar Mike Enriquez, co-anchor of the Network’s flagship primetime newscast 24 Oras, was awarded as Best TV Male Newscaster for 2013.

The Kapuso Network was also the big winner in FAPSA’s Tri-Media Awards held recently.

GMA Network won major recognition as the Perfect Media Advocate while Soho was given the Excellence in Broadcast Journalism as Best TV News Anchor for her newscast State of the Nation with Jessica Soho. GMA senior correspondents Sherrie Ann Torres and JP Soriano received the Excellence in TV News Reporting.

GMA News TV’s drama series Titser won the Excellence in Television Art Mini-Series Program while two of its stars, Lovi Poe and Agot Isidro, were given the Lead Artists Special Recognition.

I Juander, which also airs on GMA News TV, was awarded the Excellence in Television Art Educational Program award while its hosts Susan Enriquez and Cesar Apolinario were given Program Hosts Special Recognition.

The Breakthrough Talk Show Host Award, meanwhile, was given to today’s hottest child star host Ryzza Mae Dizon for her daily morning show The Ryzza Mae Show. (Iris Joy Abarquez)
