Gov. Roel Degamo has appealed to his political opponents to avoid drastic moves that only create confusion.
In an interview with reporters which was posted on social media, the Governor was referring to last week’s widely-circulated rumor about former Gov. Henry Teves returning to head the Capitol on Jan. 10. The talks did not materialize.
“The more people are let down by false promises, the more the people will no longer believe you,” Degamo said in Cebuano.
He said he does not believe the Supreme Court will reverse the decision they had made when they ordered the Comelec to resolve the case of Ruel Gaudia, who ran under the name of ‘Ruel Degamo’.
“The Comelec knew we were cheated when ‘they’ fielded Ruel Gaudia to run against me,” he said.
The Governor promised to be the governor of all who voted for him, and those who did not vote for him.
Meanwhile, he revealed that during his struggle from July until around September, he went to Quiapo Church in Manila, and prayed hard to the Black Nazarene, and promised that if the Black Nazarene will give the Comelec En Banc decision, he would be a devotee, and attend every Feast of the Black Nazarene.
“I really believe there is a God who is most powerful, especially the Black Nazarene, Our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth,” the Governor said. “I went there, and held the original hands of the 500-year old Black Nazarene, and I felt genuine happiness and peace within me after I held the hands of the Black Nazarene,” he added.
