Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will have life even if they die.”(John11:25).
This Bible verse mention Christ resurrection, and those who believe in Christ will also be resurrected. In the future the believers in Christ will be resurrected because the evidence of resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ it is not because of Religious rituals, it’s because we have faith and believe that Christ was resurrected from the dead, and give us hope that someday those who believed in the Lord will be resurrected from the dead and be with the Lord Jesus Christ forever.
We must thank God because through Jesus Christ’s resurrection there are 4 great achievement:
Christ had victory over death. Jesus Christ sit at the Father’s right hand and intercedes on our behalf, “Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” (Heb.7:25) Because Jesus rose from the dead, we can rest assured that He knows our struggles and will supply all our need.
Christ’s atoning sacrifice for our sins was accepted. Before we received God’s gift of salvation, our sinfulness separated us from God. Through the crucifixion of Christ, He took our punishment unto himself so that the Father could forgive our sin, justify us, and declare that we are no longer guilty “Christ Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24). God reconciled us to Himself, so we can love and enjoy with Him for all eternity.
Christ resurrection gives us confidence that we have peace with God. Jesus predicted His death and resurrection. The empty tomb confirms that the Father has accepted Christ’s sacrifice for our sins and restored us to right relationship with Him, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,” (John 1:12)
Every believer will experience a bodily resurrection. Jesus Christ rose from the grave with a glorified physical body. When the disciple thought He was a spirit, Christ told them to feel the scars on His hands, feet, and side “See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” (Luke 24:39).
Christ’s resurrection is a example of what we will experience one day “But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep” (1 Corinthians 15:20). Our bodies will be renewed and perfectly fit for eternal life. We will need a glorious physical body in eternity-we won’t simply be spirits. “
We do not have to fear death. Most people are afraid of dying. Why? Death is an unknown, and their sin and rebellion against God make them unsure of what to expect.
No matter who we are, no matter how much money we have, no matter how much influence we use, death is inescapable. And because we cannot conquer death, we have come up with all kind of comfortable, even if it is wrong, theories to soften its impact.
First, many people believe that death is a temporary transition – it simply moves us into a passing stage commonly called purgatory. Apparently, purgatory is “an in-between place between heaven and hell, where the unfinished business of earth is settled.” In this system of belief, others can pray someone out of this place of punishment, purification, and perfection.
Second, many seek release from death’s permanent grip through repeated reincarnation. This Eastern philosophy claim that when we die, we can be born into another body. Recycling of the human spirit can go on indefinitely, bringing us to higher levels of happiness if we lived a good life or lower levels of misery if we haven’t.
Third, some believe that death is the final conclusion, the grand finale to life. To them, an afterlife is nonexistent-this philosophy is what gave progress to the Epicurus philosophy: “Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die”. The believers of these theories may be sincere, but they are sincerely wrong. The Scriptures clearly teach several truth about death: that it occurs to all (read Eccles. 7:2); that it is the ultimate result of sin (read Gen. 2:17; 3:19 with Rom. 3:23); that we all will die once and that after death we will be judged by God (read Heb. 9:27); and when we die, if the gap between us and God has not already been extent by faith in Christ, it will then be so great that will never be solved.(read Luke 16: 19-31, especially v.26).
But believers will have the confidence to stand before God, not because of their good deeds, but because of God’s gift of salvation thru Jesus Christ our Lord. Jesus Christ is preparing a home in heaven for those who place their trust in Him. “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14: 2-3)
What must you do to have the gift of eternal life? Believe in Jesus Christ’s atoning sacrifice on the cross “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3: 16). And accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. If you do this, God promises your sins will be forgiven. “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be save ; for with the heart a person believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10)
If Jesus Christ did not rise from the dead, our faith is hopeless. We may as well live like the rest of the world, without direction, hope, or purpose. But our Savior Jesus Christ triumphed over the grave and He has gone to prepare a home in heaven for us. Because of the resurrection, you and I can have confidence that all Jesus Christ promised will come to pass.
This Easter, let us rejoice because Christ lives we can face tomorrow, because Christ lives all fear is gone and because I know Christ hold the future and life is worth living it’s because Christ resurrected from the death.
