A key official from the University of Guam was in Dumaguete City on April 11 to explore possible partnerships with Foundation University.
Dr. John Peterson, assistant vice president for Graduate Studies at the University of Guam, held a roundtable discussion with the FU administration and deans to talk about possible collaborations in various fields of study.
One of the main discussions focused on how to include the field of fisheries in the FU College of Agriculture.
Other feasible projects for possible collaboration with the University of Guam is developing an exchange program for teachers and students from the College of Computer Studies and the Department of Architecture & Fine Arts.
The visit of Dr. Peterson was made possible through Joy Onozawa, incoming head of the Department of Architecture.
At the University of Guam, Dr. Peterson is also director of the Research & Sponsored Programs of the Center for Island Sustainability.
The benchmarking activity was led by Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs Faisal Alih and Foundation Preparatory Academy Superintendent Dr. Mira Sinco. (Klein Emperado)
