The Negros Oriental Business and Development Foundation is now given the authority to look for investors and events that can generate income through the use of the different facilities of the provincial government.

Governor Roel Degamo made his announcement during a recent meeting with members of the NOBDF, headed by its executive director, Francel Martinez.

The NOBDF comprises private sector representatives and businessmen in Negros Oriental who have been responsible in inviting investors to come and invest in the province.

The Negros Oriental facilities include the Lamberto Macias Sports & Cultural Complex, the Lorenzo Teves Aqua Center, the Convention Center, and the almost- completed Negros Oriental Hotel.

Governor Degamo said that during his evaluation of these facilities, he noticed that the income generated from these are not enough to cover for maintenance costs.

The provincial government has been annually allocating huge amounts for the maintenance of these facilities to preserve their quality and durability, he said.

Governor Degamo said he is willing to listen to suggestions from members of the NOBDF since they have the expertise when it comes to investments and business matters.

The NOBDF is one of the active foundations that collaborate with the provincial government in promoting Negros Oriental as an alternative investment hub for prospective businesses. (PNA/Maricar Aranas)
