By ADAM RAMAS UYPITCHING

What was your lifestyle like before?
Adam:
I used to live a very active night life. I would drink alcohol a lot and I would eat a lot also.
That time, I was 78 kilograms (about 172 lbs.)

What started this change in lifestyle?
Adam: My transformation all started with triathlete Dongdo Cordova who was always coaxing my brother Irwin to push me to join them in being athletic. Eventually around November 2017, Dongdo would accompany me in my jogs at the Perdices Oval. The non-stop encouragement resulted in my brother eventually giving me a Garmin watch for a gift. Then they did a Biggest Loser Challenge. Irwin lost so he challenged Paul [Ramas Uypitching] and me to also do the Biggest Loser Challenge.

How did you manage your diet?
Adam:
By May 2018, I started with my diet. Strictly no carbs. No rice, no pasta, no cakes, no bread, no biscuits, no more beer, no juices, no soft drinks.

What is your sports regimen?
Adam:
By mid September 2018, I started going to the City High School Gym where I mainly do cardio workouts. I do this five times a week after 5pm. Dongdo advised me to also do gym work to avoid injuring my knees if I only focused on one sport of pasingot program (jogging). I do a one-hour-plus sports regimen. I also go jogging by 5 in the morning, three times a week. So my pasingot programs are done early morning and at night. So far, I’m happy and satisfied with my gym instructor, Boy Rivera, who has helped me achieve my goal: which was to get back in shape and maintain it for the rest of my life.

In only about 11 months, I’m now down to 59 kilos (about 130 lbs).
