Getting yourself fit is easy if one has the discipline, determination, and motivation.

I understand this matter only too well, although this profession has nothing to do with the course I chose in college.

It.s all about passion. I live a hyperactive lifestyle: I go biking, trekking up to Mt. Talinis, kickboxing, Muay Thai, swimming, diving and snorkeling.

So you can see that as a mother of three children, I would have to balance my daily life with my family as well.

I am 90 percent vegetarian; my diet involves juicing of fruits and vegetable.

As a yoga teacher, my opinion about keeping one’s self fit is not just about the physical appearance or the food that one eats; it has to do with the inner peace and tranquility that one develops and exudes as a person. It is more about getting fit mentally, psychologically, and most importantly, spiritually. S

Developing a macho or sexy figure isn’t enough when one unabashedly projects a negative aura, and negatively affects people around him/her.

It is good to feed our body with highly-nutritional foods, fruits and vegetable, less fat, less calories, less carbohydrates, less sweets, no MSG; and for us to sleep early, get up early, drink plenty of water (water therapy has been known to be anti-aging).

We have to do our regular daily routinary exercises, and try to add yoga in our regimen. It’s more on spiritual cleansing, it helps you balance between right and wrong. It provides us with daily motivations, and leads us to a path of enlightenment.
It connects our mind, body and soul.

In my deep meditations and long practice of yoga, it teaches me how to live the kind of life I need to live, and it also teaches me to balance my daily decisions.

There are a number of improvised techniques in keeping one’s self fit, the simplest of which is to deprive yourself of a lot of sumptuous cuisines because of the need to diet.

Of course, we should taste new foods, but let’s not be consumed by it. Too much of one thing is not good.

Stress and pressure make us look older.

So beware!

Positive energy is key to keeping one’s self fit.

If I can do it, definitely you can, too.
