I gave a good fight

The election is over, and like a decent athlete in a marathon, I understand that not everyone will come out the winner. Someone will end up the victor, and someone will have to concede.

On behalf of my family and relatives, I want to thank every person who voted for me in the May 13 election. We also want to thank all of the people who were supportive of my candidacy in various ways. May God richly bless you and your family in all your undertakings.

Despite the loss and the physical exhaustion, I want everyone to know that I enjoyed connecting with u all in the community, and engaging in the political process.

I want to especially thank those who were with me at all times, despite knowing that I didn’t have anything much to offer them.

I won’t be able to enumerate the names of those who selflessly gave their time, effort, resources. There’s just too many of you but you know who you are, and all of you know that I will never ever forget what you all did for me.

I just want to remind us all that this election may be over, but the campaign will never stop. That is, the campaign to do good for other people, the campaign to push our leaders to stick to good and honest governance, and the campaign not to look the other way when injustice and corruption are committed.

I may have lost the election but I gave a good fight. At the end of the day, it’s all that matters for me and my family.

To my supporters, thank you very much for a job well done. God bless us always!
