City and police officials conduct inspection of the functionalities, location and orientation of all the 336 high definition CCTV cameras installed in strategic locations in the 30 component barangays to maximize their use.
Technical crew from PLDT and its partner NetPac are deployed to immediately make adjustments of the CCTV cameras while being monitored in the command center.
The inspection report is necessary before the City Government through Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo formally accepts all the equipment and software component of the CCTV system and assume full control of the operations on or before the contract deadline.
Currently, PLDT is operating the command center in tandem with the City Government while responding to requests for footages that could help solve a crime or incident as part of the testing and inspection phase of the project.
The City Government is recruiting several IT professionals, who will undergo training on how to operate and maintain the command center 24/7 throughout the year to maximize the utilization of the cameras.
The ongoing inspection of the CCTV cameras covers 119 intersections in 30 barangays. Mayor Remollo has made it a priority to install a modern CCTV system to prevent and solve crimes, improve traffic situation and for disaster response and management. (PIO)
