Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, chairperson of the Inter-Agency Task Force CoViD-19, has issued additional Executive Orders that will help boost the measures taken to minimize the possibility of transmission of the coronavirus:
Executive Order No. 13: Enjoining all public and private establishments within the jurisdiction of the City government of Dumaguete to conduct disinfection on their respective establishments at least twice a day
Executive Order No. 14: Enjoining all commercial, establishments, internet cafes, public market, flea markets, food stalls, paunay, bars, movie houses, theatre and restaurants to cease operations, sanitize, and shutdown every 8:00 pm until 8:00 am effective Wednesday, March 18.
The public market will be open for business only from 4:00 am until 8:00 pm starting March 17.
For the continuous sanitation of the facilities, personnel from the City Economic Enterprises department, and the City Disaster Risk-Reduction & Management office will regularly conduct disinfection of the various buildings and stalls inside the market to keep the facilities COVID-19-free.
Sanitation teams will also disinfected the hospitals, churches, parks, the City Hall compound, streets, and other public places.
The City turned over some 300 N95 surgical face masks to Dr. Marc Angelo Llosa and to Dr. Liland Estacion for use by medical staff at the forefront of efforts trying to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Mayor Remollo’s personal donation was made after learning of the appeal of some workers from the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital of the scarcity of face masks in the market.
He also provided N95 masks to the City DRRM personnel, medical staff of the SU Medical Center, and to other government workers to minimize exposure to airborne transmission as they perform their tasks.
The Mayor has met with the Punong Barangays to discuss strategies and precautionary measures they need to disseminate to their constituents.
Earlier, he distributed N95 face masks to officials of the Liga ng mga Barangays led by Dionie Amores.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla also enlisted the assistance of the barangay officials to monitor persons with travel history in their own communities.
Foreign and Philippine tourists who have been stranded in Dumaguete and in the province of Negros Oriental are urged to contact the nearest tourism office to disclose about their whereabouts.
The local government needs to include the tourist’s circumstances in the database for CoViD monitoring purposes, and to ensure their concerns are appropriately addressed. Please call the City Tourism Office at (035) 422-9409; or the Negros Oriental Provincial Tourism Office at (035) 225-1825.
