Dumaguete Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo Monday asked businessmen in Dumaguete and Negros Oriental to support his master plan, not just for Dumaguete but for the Visayas region.

Speaking before the businessmen during the Christmas fellowship of the Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Remollo disclosed that his plan to connect the major Visayan islands with bridges has been approved by President Duterte.

The plan, he said, was presented to the President by Presidential Adviser Adelino Sitoy, and was approved in principle.

Connecting the major islands of the Visayas would also mean that we should improve our road networks so that traveling will be easier, he said.

He also appealed to businessmen who own huge tracts of land to maximize the use of their land to help generate jobs, and produce more food.

Developing the land, he said, would also increase its value, which will also benefit the nearby areas.

Mayor Remollo was the inducting officer of the new members of the NOCCI.
