The Public Affairs Section of the United States Embassy in Manila will hold its 3rd Seminar for Regional Media on Sept. 15-16, with experts to speak on the environment, science and technology, and law enforcement.

The activity will also focus on US—Philippines partnerships in environment conservation and protection, said Yolanda de Guzman of the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy-Manila.

Some 20 regional media practitioners from Batangas, Bohol, Cebu, Davao, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Palawan and Samar, among others, will join the seminar to be held at the U.S. Embassy in Manila on Monday and Tuesday, she said.

Two journalists from Dumaguete, namely, Mary Judaline Flores-Partlow of the Philippines News Agency-Dumaguete satellite bureau, and freelance writer Celia Acedo, are participating in the seminar.

Philip S. Goldberg, U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines, will deliver the welcome remarks at the opening of the seminar on Monday, said de Guzman.

Participants to this seminar will have a chance to hear from experts from the scientific community and non-government organizations, as well as representatives from the US Agency for International Development, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service, the Economic Section of the U.S. Embassy, and the U.S. Department of Justice International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance.
