Police are studying several leads that could point to the culprits behind Friday’s grenade explosion outside the home of Regional Trial Court Branch 32 Judge Rodrick A. Maxino.

Police rushed to the Maxino home along Tindalo St. in barangay Daro after receiving reports of the grenade explosion around 1:30 a.m Friday. Investigators found shells of 9 mm bullets.

Judge Maxino told investigators they heard a big explosion followed by a burst of gunfire.

Witnesses said a man in a motorbike hurled something, possible the grenade, at the house; he was accompanied by someone driving another motorbike.

No one was injured in the attack, but it damaged the vehicles in Judge Maxino’s garage.

One of the leads police are following are parties who were enraged by some of the Judge’s court decisions.
