Kabayan Partlist Rep. Harry Roque has started to solicit projects that require congressional funding.

Rep. Roque said he will use all his allocations for Negros Oriental and Dumaguete City because he simply loves both the province and the city.

In an interview with the local media, Rep. Roque mentioned about P1 billion worth of projects to be funded by Kabayan Partylist funds.

He said Kabayan Partylist garnered 70,000 votes in Negros Oriental in the recent elections that led to a successful 6thplace finish for the Kabayan Partylist.

According to Rep. Roque, Dumaguete also has a special place in his heart because it was at the baywalk or the Rizal Boulevard where his then girlfriend (now his wife) said yes to him.

The Kabalikat Ng Mamamayan (Kabayan) is an accredited Partylist that represents the marginalized sectors of the Filipino community, including the disabled, senior citizens, Overseas Filipino Workers, fishermen, farmers and the poor.

Immediately, Dumaguete Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo submitted to Rep. Roque a proposed project for the city during a luncheon meeting, which was also attended by some members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

A staunch human rights advocate, Atty. Roque was legal counsel of the family of Jennifer Laude, a transgender woman killed by U.S. Army Joseph Scott Pemberton in 2014 and who was sentenced to suffer an imprisonment of 10 years. (PNA/JFP/Juancho Gallarde)
