The suspected in-fighting among people involved in the drugs trade is eyed by police as the reason for the deaths of two persons in Dumaguete last week.

Unidentified gunmen riding in tandem on a motorcycle shot and killed Leomar Sabanal Mandiola, 25, a resident of barangay Looc and Elmo Andres “El-El” Catadman, 46, of Tubod, Dumaguete City in separate incidents last week.

Mandiola, who was acquitted last Dec.13 for illegal possession of prohibited drugs due to insufficiency of evidence, was shot at barangay Bunao last January 11 while Catadman was shot last Tuesday dawn along Ma. Cristina Street.

Supt. James Goforth, Dumaguete police chief, said policemen recovered an improvised .22 caliber revolver from his pocket, along with eight rounds of ammunition.

Police also recovered two plastic sachets of suspected shabu from Catadman’s pocket. (JFP)
