I enjoyed reading Michael O’Riordan’s piece on Life in the Philippines (July 9, 2017).

The columnist sounds like a decent old-timer “foreigner” who feels the same way I feel about our hometown Dumaguete. And for him to develop this fondness and understanding so soon is heartwarming.

Angay siyang i-welcome to Dumaguete, in other words.
