Both private and government hospitals in Dumaguete have pledged to coordinate their efforts and response in managing possible cases of CoViD-19 following the death of a Councilor from a northern town.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and Gov. Roel Degamo met with the managements of the major hospitals in Dumaguete City, where it was agreed that once a suspected case of CoViD-19 has been accepted, the patient will no longer be referred to nor transported to another hospital to prevent transmission.
Dr. Marc Lloyd Llosa and Dr. Liland Estacion of the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital, and the administrators of the private hospitals namely Holy Child Hospital, Silliman University Medical Center, and Ace Dumaguete Doctors will coordinate and pool their resources to ensure that CoViD patients will be taken care of and any possible outbreak will be prevented.
The Provincial government vowed to acquire medical equipment and supplies for severe cases, while the City government will purchase test kits, personal protective equipment, and surgical face masks. (PIO)
