The Liberal Party in Negros Oriental is expected to find a replacement for Board Member in the 3rd District who recently died due to a sudden illness.

Vice Gov. Edward Mark Macias, the highest LP member who is holding the second top position of the Province, disclosed that processes are being undertaken for a replacement of the late Board Member Clyde Lim.

He said two names have so far cropped up in the initial discussions but the choice of the Party remains under wraps.

The names include Katrina Uypitching-Lim, wife of the deceased Board Member. Another name is that of Nick “Dodong” Lim, uncle of the late Board Member.

Earlier, Dodong Lim had actually filed a certificate of candidacy for Board Member in the 3rd District.

The person the Liberal Party picks to replace Bon Lim will be nominated by the LP Provincial Chair Jocelyn Limkaichong, former 1st District congressman.

Vice Governor Macias further said it will not be long before the nomination will be announced by the Liberal Party provincial chair, which will be submitted to Malacanang for approval by President Aquino. (PNA)
