The Land Transportation Office District Office in Bayawan City will spearhead a Motorada — Gasa sa Motorista or a parade of motorcycles on Dec. 17.
LTO-Bayawan Chief Alberta Janine Lawas said the activity is in line with the celebration of the 16th Charter Day and Pamasko sa Bayawan this year.
This is done in cooperation with the local government of Bayawan City headed by Mayor Pryde Henry Teves and other partners.
Lawas said the motorada is also part of her office’s information and dissemination drive to owners and drivers of motorcycles to be responsible and courteous road users.
All owners of registered motorcycles for the current year 2016 and with license to drive are encouraged to join the motorada which will start at 4 p.m. on Dec. 17 at the Bayawan City Boulevard.
A parade of motorcycles will jumpstart the activity, to be followed by a short program and a raffle draw with lots of prizes on hand and a motorcycle unit for the grand prize.
Lawas clarified only motorcycles that are registered with the LTO-Bayawan District Office and are in its area of responsibility are qualified to join the motorada.
The LTO-Bayawan District office covers Siaton, Sta. Catalina, Bayawan, and Basay in Negros Oriental and Hinoba-an and Sipalay in Negros Occidental.
Deadline for registration is on Dec. 14. (Judy Partlow/PNA)
