Philippine National Police (PNP) operatives of Bayawan City, Negros Oriental have arrested a man for alleged illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition as well as alleged illegal possession of suspected shabu.
Bayawan City police station personnel led by PO3 Richard Jua responded to a call late Thursday evening on an alleged alarm and scandal and indiscriminate firing Talipapa, Zamora Street in Barangay Suba of that southern city.
They arrested the suspect, identified as Jory Navales Juares, 33 years old, married, and a resident of Tubod, Poblacion in the the adjacent town of Sta. Catalina for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition), a police report said Friday.
Subsequently, the suspect was also caught en flagrante delicto allegedly having in possession two pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu granules.
The suspect is now detained as appropriate criminal charges are being filed against him. (Judy Flores-Partlow/PNA)
