Mayor Remollo stressed that the story of Mandaue, a first class highly urbanized city despite it’s very small land area of just 34.87 km2 slightly bigger than Dumaguete’s 33.62 km2, will inspire the city to capitalize on its natural advantages and resources to create a vibrant local economy capable of uplifting the quality of life of the residents.
Mandaue City is considered a major industrial hub in the Visayas Region while Dumaguete is an emerging sports tourism destination in the country as well as the center for trade and commerce in Negros Oriental.
Mayor Remollo is optimistic that both cities can share and learn the best practices in the area of peace and security, disaster preparedness and response, sports tourism, education, information and communication technology among other areas of cooperation that will create positive impact in the lives of their peoples.
