The Silliman University Marina Mission Clinic (SUMMC) is gearing up for the launching its Health and Emergency Assistance and Life Support (H.E.A.L.S.) Project in early December.
Project H.E.A.L.S. aims to organize a systematic procedure of health and emergency assistance and life support project at SUMMC that is linked to the barangays through the family health volunteers and barangay health workers by means of mobile phones, a media release from the Office of Information and Publication (OIP) of Silliman University said Monday.
The SUMMC is under the Extension Program of Silliman University in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, headed by its director, Prof. Emervencia Ligutom, while Dr. Fe Sycip-Wale is the Marina Clinic’s outreach coordinator and Dr. Gervacio S. Salatandre is the Clinic Administrator.
There will also be a ceremonial turnover of support from Smart Communications Inc., partner of SUMMC for this project, to be represented by Atty. Maria Jane C. Paredes.
According to Charmaine Melaño, OIC of the SU OIP, at least 30 units of mobile phones are set to be turned over to Project H.E.A.L.S. on December 5, 2016 at the SU Marina Mission Clinic in Dauin, Negros Oriental. (PNA/JFP)
